I really enjoy painting ornaments around the holidays, and have been doing it for years, gifting them to friends and family. So this year I decided to switch up my usual work in Iris to include ornaments!
These are hand-painted and lettered pinewood slice ornaments featuring a trio of cute woodland animals–a “merry” fox, a “cheer” raccoon, and a “joy” hedgehog, each dressed for the cold weather, holding a green present with a red bow, flanked by snowflakes, red berries and green foliage. Painting these was fun and definitely a labor of love! Each ornament is strung on strung on black vegan suede lacing with a faceted wooden bead painted red. I used acrylic paint over gesso, and sealed them with satin varnish both on the front and back, so they can be enjoyed for many holidays to come.
They are approximately 3x3” in diameter. Upon request, each ornament can be customized with the year, a name - plus any of these can be made-to-order if already claimed.
Please note it is entirely hand-painted on raw wood, so any imperfections add to its charm.
